Hacking

Post by FROG » Thu Feb 05, 2015 10:27 am

So I just recieved an email from the forum informing me that someone has tried logging in as me and got the password wrong 5 times !!

It gives me an IP address - question is that IP address trackable?

I cant imagine what they would do once logged in as me ????

Maybe they dont like my signature pictures :D

They were probably after your good stuff ... ;)

I'd change your password just to be sure.

Cheers, Bantum ...

They are going after members who have a low post count and not been active recently and are trying passwords that could work.

They haven't chosen individuals for any other reason.

I would say more but the last time they went nuts and brought the site to a halt.

Could be script kiddie, someone spoofing their IP or using a anonomous proxy in .cn for shits and giggles.
Update your anti viri and malware scanners, take your machine offline and do a full system scan. If you can scan in safe mode even better.
If you have been using the same password for a while, might be time to look at a password safe that can generate and store new passwords.
Change your email password aswell, it may be compromised and they are waiting for the password for this site (or any other site) to be emailed to you.
It's a fun new world

Just changed my password for the first time since the crash of '05...

Thought it better to include a few new elements to make it more difficult.

Cheers
