does vbulletin censor things?

Post by steptoe » Thu Aug 18, 2011 10:05 am

I ask as I sent a PM to amember, and to get his attention, possibly for urgency I used a few key words in the title box.

The words used were in random order

S
E
X

P
O
R
N

F
R
E
E

Obviously worked as I got a pretty quick reply but it came back as

Yes there is a filter in the database of the board that recognises "nasty" words and either edits them or asks you to.

customisation is possible by admins and a custom dictionary of words can be added. as well words containing "naughty" words can be edited, an example would be "bassoon" which would be edited b***oon or "cockrel" which would be edited c***rel

nice stuff eh :)
