How do I colour text in posts, please?

Post by steptoe » Thu Apr 14, 2011 12:05 pm

Now I have learnt how to post pics without flaw I feel I need to continue to advance my skill level, so next is as title states clearly - how do I add coloured text.

I already can do italics by control+i and bold by control+b and type beteen bracket things each time

clear , step by step instruction would be appreciated by myself at least

Type what you want, highlight it, and hit the underlined capital A button above the text box you're typing in. Select a colour and away you go.

Thanks Dane, it's the choice of text etc box I don't have, never have, your pic above looks like it is from gmail. How'd you get that up? Is this a WA thing? Do you get this with every post or make a special request of website

Yes you are missing out on your formatting tools. Maybe you might have to do it the nerdy way

text you wanna colour but ignore the full stop after green

Also, if you want to us to see what is on your computer screen, press the button in the top right hand of your keyboard, labelled "Print Screen or "PrtSc" then open up an image editing program like microsoft paint and press paste. Save it and upload the image for all to see

Jonno
Go to user cp
Go to settings and options
Scroll down to message editor interface

Which one is selected here ?
Think you need standard editor - extra formatting controls

Off to reset mine again :-)

yep FROG is correct and while you are at it I think you need to turn html code to on as well.
Message Editor Interface
When posting messages to the forums or other members, there are three interface types available to you. The simplest of these is a simple text box, while the last is a fully-fledged WYSIWYG editor, which allows you to format your text as you want it and see the results immediately.

Depending upon the capabilities of your web browser, you may not be able to use all of these options. If you experience problems when posting messages, try switching to a different interface type.

Is it the fact that as I used by accident, red text for the imageshack link - it shows the pic in my edit message screen or is that the enhanced version?

So, dare I ask what is "Switch Editor Mode"? OK, it just changes from the actual finished product to the mode with edit commands HTML stuff?
