Do you think having "stars" as part of the answer when it's in the question is odd?

New member cannot register to use forum?

Post by SUBYDAZZ » Wed Mar 25, 2009 11:34 am

Hi All, long time no post, I had a person contact me about having a lot of trouble registering to use the forums.

They cannot seem to answer the *random question* correctly, no matter what they do. (bear with me, I'm not sure what they are talking about here).

This message is displayed: The following errors occurred during your registration
The answer given for the random question was incorrect.

from: register.php?do=addmember

Also unable to use the *contact us* link.

I just tried too, and got the same issue, any hints for the answer to the question? is it in the format six/seven or something because the _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ thing has thrown me...

Hoping not too many potential users have stumbled here...

Any help is appreciated.

TIA,

Dazz

How many stars in the subaru logo? _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _

six stars.

I have had a LOT of people ask this. I didn't think the answer was difficult.

Ah, OK, thanks very much.

The answer isn't difficult, but what you have to write for the answer is certainly unusual.

Since it asks how many stars in the question, why would you have to write *stars* in the answer as well?

I think if a lot of people are having this problem then perhaps the question (or the answer) needs to be re-phrased?
