Replying posts and gets errors - anyone?

Post by AlpineRaven » Fri Jun 25, 2010 6:01 pm

G'day guys.
Are you getting these messages whenever your replying posts?

"The following errors occurred with your submission:
  1. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters."
I get that everytime I tried to reply messages and if i go back - i loose the typo whatever i typed on. It happened to me this morning but last night was ok?

Cheers

what browser are you using ? and have you had any problems since and update of your browser happened?

I use firefox and for a while I wanted to kill my computer because of a problem with net framework compatability

try the old clear your cookies and all temporary files (you will need to unhide your hidden folders to do this properly) and see if that makes a difference

in firefox tools try to go to Options - remove selected cookies. Then delete the entries for Facebook

or try a making new profile in firefox and don't import any cookies, bookmarks or extensions

I have noticed the facebook plugin for the board doesn't load in firefox it just has the loading icon and when that doesn't work firefox says it can't find the server etc. and crashes. is there any way the facebook plugin can be pulled from the board?

And what the point of making a new profile in firefox and then not importing bookmarks. I would think that is rather useless I relieve on the bookmarks for work. Will try and stop the facebook thing happening, I think that is in my control panel. But it still looks like something is wrong on the site, and it could a conflict with the plugin for Facebook. It could be that I block all pop ups and the facebook use throw up a pop up evertime I posted to the forum.

the bookmarks can have net framework plugins or javascript plugins as attached files
and when imported can just bring the same problems with them

We did not have this problem a few days ago. Why has it suddenly surfaced? As I need my bookmarks I probably quit this forum unless a fix appears. It must a software conflict on the server side, as the message is generated server side.

I'm not getting a single problem and I access the board over 3 different PC's all with various versions of both IE and Firefox.

Ever signed in to the facebook thing? I have and now can't get rid of it, and it sounds like AlpineRaven is having a similar issue. Whenever I try to post as god, the board goes looking for an fb app but can't find it and therefore won't post anything. This new account works fine. Same thing on my phone and both computers, with IE and Chrome.

And all this on the one board that requires a subscription fee.

Dane.

Is it possible for one of the group admins to reply to this problem. I am still having problems with the site. The problem is so bad that I will quit this group. I have removed the facebook thing. I will bot delete by bookmarks ad suggested as I don't believe that is the problem.
