New Liberty

Post by Suby Roo » Wed Apr 30, 2008 9:19 am

This is my new Liberty. Picked it up yeaterday,

'93 model, ej22, awd, 16" rims, power everything, wrx struts all round, and last but not least, Supercharged.
Supercharger is a sc14 toyota supercharger running 8 pound boost. Not fitted to the vehice at the minute as the guy needed to keep the front mount and piping for his twin turbo lib.

It is so much better to drive than the old L.

Will Get pics of the supercharger and the car tonight.

Sweet ride!

It will really be the part with the supercharger! You going to use a Water to air intercooler to keep it sleeper style?

Cheers

It was running a r31 skyline front mount behind the bumper, couldnt even see it. Going to stay lowered and sleeper style for a while yet anyway ;)

Yeah you got that right, the Libs are a much nicer car to drive then the older Subys.
I have lost count now of all the Subys I have had over the years, but thay have all been of the older MYs, my last Suby was a 82 wagon, then I jumped up to a Gen 3 wagon 3 years ago, WOW it was so much a nicer car and better to drive then the MY ever was.
I wont go back to an MY but as an offroader I still miss it.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Im now all grown up to an outback with a 2" lift and outback struts, ready to go off road and take on the world.

Little update on the old girl,

as fate has it, test fitted the super charger on the weekend and with it all raring to go, fate happens.

this morning i had a little incident with my liberty, bus pulled out onto highway in front of some cars, everyone hit the brakes and i ended up with no where to go and destroyed the front end into the back of another car. No engine damage, just body.

A quote for the insurance company later and its estimated at around 4 grand, which seems a fair bit too much to me, as they quoted 780 for a new radiator alone, and 600 for paint, when i was quoted 1000 for a full respray not long ago, so its a write off for me most likely. Ill upload some photo's tomorrow when i get a chance.

So i need a bonnet, bumper, rio, radiator and support panel, rhs side head light and a couple of other things, ill put up a wanted post anyway.

Cheers, jarrod.

if you really want to, thats very very fixable. Can do it for ALOT less than 4k. Just ask subafury matt, he has just fixed one with pretty much identical damage.

LOL at 1000 for a full respray. that WILL be a very shit job u get done with that kinda money.

agreed with Keffa to very fixable

if you quoted it through your insurance you wont have to pay 4K.
maybe get paid out on it then buy it back as a repairable write off?

Thats crap to see mate, I'll keep my eyes peeled for parts.
Actually, a local wreckers which has one of these libs (same as mine, so same as yours :)), not sure where the damage is on it, but I'll have a squiz at it for ya and get some prices, I've dealt with the bloke before and his prices are pretty reasonable. The car is a charcoal colour.
