exactly. I already have two toys and that one was the third and wife was getting annoyed with it. as for wholesaling it. I had a victorian buyer but the mod plates on it didn't mean squat there and the thing would have needed engineeering again. in the end it was all too hard and with a wife complaining I had too many cars - that was the final outcome.

I would have loved it, but as with Chris, it was incompatible with the wife...

Hi Guys,
Because I have Girlfriend 1.0 which is compatible with the GT2 Wagon I am the new proud owner of the car.
I have so many questions to ask and a bit of work to do to bring it back up to Chris's high standards but I will try.

Yeah all points are still intact and hopefully this weekend is sunny the wagon will get a lot of attention in the form of cleaning and replacement of fluids.
What do you guys reccommend for auto trans fluid and is it worth me putting a bottle of the Lucas automatic transmission treatment to help keep the seals nice and sound.

Just did thanks Chris he was very helpful
I will give you a bell in a couple of weeks about the aircon as I want to get it sorted. Also how do you test the rear window demister as I suspect its not functioning correctly.

Park out side my place right now (-4°C) and wait for the windows to to fog up, then turn it on?

Or just check it with a multimeter when it's turned on

It was suggested that the TX valve and receiver drier are replaced (freon wasn't circulating).
Cool to see it back on the forums.

Yes it does. I've had the pleasure of having a look at it. I'd say it's a bit of a restoration job if you want to keep it for some time, otherwise I reckon you'd just be running a good thing into the ground if left the way it is
I also think the biggest issue is the uncertainty around the engineering requirements in Vic - some engineering firms in QLD are on our VASS approved scheme. So if it's happened to have been done at a listed engineer then it's a walk in the park in that department.
Road worthy could be a bit of work. Then the rest is cosmetic in my opinion.
Such a great looking subi and a very unique (and I'd imagine quick) setup! I hope someone picks this thing up to restore it.
I'd love to, but a) I've got a few things higher up on my wish list and b) things haven't gone the way I'd hoped this year
And I'd prefer a manual... but that's just me
