My GT2 wagon

Post by Chris_Rogers » Wed Aug 16, 2006 7:36 pm

a few progress shots. I'll do more once I start putting it all back together.

in short 88 GT2 wagon ( full electrics and a few other things.)

any way pics..

as I bought it:

as it sits now

wheels are 2000 WRX jap items brakes are legacy GTB front and rear. still sorting out a few things regarding those. ABS/TRC system is plumbed in and should work once I get the electrics sorted. also in the car is a climate control system form a jap L series (thanks paul!) and an alarm. rear end is under it now. interior is still out of it.

I want another set of the yellow foggies as well.

yep as that engine sat it was clean and also 99% dead. that one has two dead heads.
its currently sitting on a pallet in the distance (out of pics.)

missing is the modded bonnet with a vortex scoop in it. (having this one made.) if you think
BG5 legacy GTB and toss a retro theme on it then you end up with this car. part of the reason
I added cliamte control to it, the donor car had it.

yep they stay- got lucky finding them in white.
they look small on the images. under the car they just fit. the rear is going to need rolling of the guards. the front is ALL legacy so clearance isnt a problem.

I'm going to be doing a LOT of work on it over the next week or so. I'll add pics when I do. grafting harnesses together is going to be the best part I reckon.

most of the cars I build are understated. that said this one should surpise a few people I think.

Looks good though. Started with a nice clean one. Wait until you have to start cutting into it.

I'm curious to see pics of the dash & aircon unit.

So is the race on to see who can get their's finished first?;)

cutting it isn't a issue. I'm not going to do any unnecessary chopping on it. if I do it will be on used bits and not the originals. mind you some panels need to be replaced anyway.

I wish.
At least you don't have to worry about the hydraulic clutch setup.

Yep, you should've started with an auto, like me:)
I did't realise how much bigger the auto tunnel was until I tried to fit the modded crossmember from the manual sedan. The entire back piece fitted up into the tunnel:o

Very nice chris!

I'm jealous that you found an AWD Lseries, let alone a turbo!

The wheels look schmick, my heart sank when you said your putting an auto in it... I prefer manauls, but if your going for street D for Drag i say!

Is that an adjustable suspention height unit i can see in the last pic under under where the battery sits (usually hidden by the guard)?

Very nice car, well done, i'd love to see final images of your project.
