Thought I would put some pics up as I get/make new bits for the Rally car

Shes a bit rough (it is a rally car after all!) and planning a repaint around Christmas.

New Chromemolly Strut brace - now painted black

New Sump Guard mounting bar, bolts to old tow points and to standard sump guard mounting holes in front.

New alloy sump guard :D

Sump guard fitted

Strut brace is designed for a different TMIC from a TTLegacy so will not block the air flow when it is fitted.
Other than that I am just trying to keep it straight

What class would that put you in with the EJ20 in a car that only came with an 1800 engine?

Oh nice work by the way. Love the strut brace

I like the front sump guard, tell us more about it. Is it a custom job, looks nice. My 3" lifted L could really benifit from one of those!

With the EJ20 I run in class "E", which is 4WD Pre 92. But my local club does not have a lot of class "E" cars so we run with the class "D" 4WD 92+ cars. Even with the EA82T I would be in class "E".

The Sump guard is all a custom job. I built the crossmember which is 1"x2" 3.0mm RHS with 10mm steel plates on each end. The plates bolt to the old tow eyes and have a new toe eye cut in the front with a piece of 10mm bar welded along the edge to add strength.

The crossmember is also bolted to the two standard mounting holes near the middle of the bar (you can see the bolt heads). Also if you look at the sump guard the two larger holes in the middle are to accomodate the washers and bolt heads from this mounting.

The sumpguard is a high density alloy (not sure on the grade/but expensive!) custom cut and bent with a leading edge "bump" for the exhaust built in. The front bolts onto the new crossmember and the rear slips into a "shelf" of steel welded to the gbox crossmember.

Thats awesome. The sooner that CAMS comes around to thinking like this and changes the rules for Australian rallying, the better!
