t.ridden's 2nd Subaru

Post by t.ridden » Fri Aug 29, 2014 12:48 pm

G'day all,

I've been searching for a long-term daily for a while now.
After much searching and trying of various Subarus (seriously, why would you even look at another make? ;) ) I finally found one that I couldn't walk away from.

The Gen 3 and 4 Libertys/Legacys have long been two of my favorite cars of any kind/era.
When this little gem came up on my Gumtree feed, I was a tad skeptical, but couldn't resist going for a look and I was pleasantly very surprised!

One owner from factory
110k kms
FULL service logbooks
Just had 100000km service, including Timing Belt, done by Subaru, with receipts
NO OIL LEAKS!! Anywhere! Hardly a trace of grease on the front underbody, just enough to tell it hadn't been purposefully scrubbed clean.
Garaged literally its entire life. Garaged at home, driven to work, garaged at work.
Paint is perfect, minus a few minor carpark scars
As with most Gen3s, drives superbly.

In short, it was as close to a brand new Gen3 as it's reasonably possible to find!

So I bought it, of course :D

Best of all, it still has the new car smell!!

Nice mate!

Did you struggle to go back to a sedan? I know I would! The ol' L has certainly converted me away from sedans for the simple reason of space/crap carrying ability!

Cheers

Thanks guys!
I'm pretty stoked, its in 'as new' condition and i intend on doing my best to keep it that way!

Not sure yet, only had it less than 48 hours!
I've still got Scooby (my L) so I still have the ability to carry large amounts of stuff/get muddy/go camping.

The purpose of the Liberty (which needs a name...) is to drive to the train station every day without worrying if I'll be stranded that evening, and for road trips where climate and cruise controls are the most important issue! (must say, its very nice to have both!)

I'll get some more/better photos once it stops bloody raining!!

And yes it's a manual, forgot to mention that :P

Just add cruise to your L with an AP60 kit.

You've already got climate control - wind the window down or turn the heater up :p

Seriously though, it's a very good looking Liberty!

Cheers
