Know your car's history ...

Post by Bantum » Fri Mar 14, 2014 7:40 am

Ok - I have been meaning to find out the history ( or Provenance ) of my car/s ... :)

Does anyone really know who their previous owner/s were ? - or where it has been ? Does it still have the original engine ? & other hard to answer questions ...

Well this has bugged me on the Brumby, so would like to find out more than what I already know ... :???:

A couple ideas for now :
  • REVS - which may tell of any encumbrances but doesn't cover all states ...
  • Rego - may be able to find previous owner via this, but would still need to do for each state ...
  • Log Book - handy if you still have it ...
  • VIN - send off to some one like Frog to see what he has ...
  • Subaru - find out / check first owner ?
Ok that's all I got for now, will add more here later ... :p

If you have any stories, ideas etc. Do let us know ... ;)

Cheers, Bantum ...

Edits : Add link to word Provenance - 14/03/2014 ...

Well we're the second owners of our Brumby. Bought it off the son of the original owner as far as I know. Did nothing but potter around on his property in central queensland for the first 19 years of its life. Original books and service log and everything :)

My RX has changed hands a lot and I'm pretty sure I'm the 4th owner since its EJ conversion. No idea how many before though, would be interesting to get the details :)
All The Rigs:

'86 RX Turbo "Thor"
'89 Brumby "Emma"
'89 Brumby "Brumbylicious"
'03 Outback "Uma"
'05 Forester
'14 Forester Luxury (My goodness is it schmick!)
