hey guys,
thought id post up afew pics of my current play-around car.
basically ive owned the car for near on 5 years now. She has been a great companion to me.
its a my02 liberty special edition with leather and nice goodies.
when i bought her she looked like this
then iwent stupid and did this to her
now ive grown up and im sick of the plastic. So on the weekend i ripped her apart abit.
im going to get a new bumper and run a smaller STi black lip on the front similar to this
what are all your thoughts? Id like to go back to a smaller front bar so i can dump her again and not be bullsh1t low (illegally low)

Interesting. Having a baby AND deciding to tear your "reliable" car apart... Not to mention the $$s that could be involved with this.
Ultimately mate, it's your car and if you like something you've seen on another liberty and you want to do it to yours, why not if you can afford it. You've obviously got a plan for it with the lowering and not being illegal...
Did you have the guards rolled on that? For some reason I remember them being fatter than what they look like there...
Cheers

the outback is the reliable car now. I only ever drive this car to the shops and back nowadays if shes lucky she gets driven once a fortnight.
she needs abit of loving while im at it. New CV shafts, some new interior parts, new rear discs and pads and im going to put a new optima gel cell battery in there to run the stereo abit better. Its also getting very close for timing belt and water pump replacement.
the guards have been rolled but didnt affect the fatness of the guards.
She looks very fat when lowered the guards normally cover abit of the rear tyre so maybe thats what you remember?
its going to be a slow job, we have three cars at the moment so i can afford to take the liberty off the road for a little while.
maybe, just maybe in the future i'll do an engine swap to it, but id be keeping it auto.
i love the handling of this car, i can chuck her around any corner at speed and she just takes it. Amazing what afew whiteline golden bits can do.

Looks good mate!
And I understand about the third car, I thought this was the one to leave alone as the outback would be on some beach trips etc...

nah the outback has been stolen by my misses. She likes it even more now with the lifted springs and how easy it is to get in and out of.
would defiantely keep a wagon as the main baby car too.
im happy with that. Make the liberty my toy to modify etc.

small update, although not alot has been done.
over the last few weeks ive completed the drivers side of the car which is new cvs, low king springs and new rear brake pads.
the car is currently sitting on the jack stands waiting for me to do the passenger side when i get a spare half a day.
Ive also hooked her up with a new darker style woodgrain interior from a GTB legacy and new STEEL wheel nuts instead of my old red alloy ones...the new ones just happen to be gold haha.
The new front bumper is currently on a ship sumwhere in the ocean.
When i get the bumper on im going to give the car to my dads mate who is going to fix up all the little carpark dings and paint a tiny bit of fade on the rear quarters as well as fibreglass up a crack in the rear bumper.
keen to get her going again now. Sometimes i just sit in her and belt the stereo in my garage

just have to wait for the bumper to come in about 4-6weeks and i'll be pimping again...but this time with my daughter haha

What whiteline bits do you have?
I've heard the Whiteline anti lift kit is pretty good...
How much have you lowered it? Hows the camber?

Yes, it's our house, my sister owns a gen1, her boyfriend has a gen2, I have a Gen3 lib and Gen3 outback and my dad drives a gen4. Plus I had a lseries as well and most of my best mates drive subarus. It wasn't uncommon to have 7 or 8 subarus parked on the street at times.

Ummm... What did Mum always say about keeping it to myself
Sorry Alex but I like the way you had it before but I'm not the owner.. if you're happy then that's all that matters. Number plate and seeing it first hand could be a whole different story. Why is there so much dust on it?
