I reckon it would be possible Toonga - if it's getting the correct fuel delivery there would be a bigger burn occurring, a bigger burn = more noise, which would mean a different note through the exhaust.TOONGA wrote:I must report the engine idles way better, has much better acceleration and actually sounds better (is that bit possible?)
WF - No need to brag I think it's time for you to start some threads and ask a mod for a section in the restoration and build ups section (yarney should be able to help there ).
Cheers

Is this the same fuel you keep telling me is much cheaper down your way? I'll stick to the fuel up hereTOONGA wrote:I decided to change the fuel filter this time and I'm glad I did. while the out end had nice clean fuel, the in end had a brown mud like substance pour out of it when I emptied it. I wish I had put it in a bottle and taken a picture. As well there was something rattling inside the filter (me thinks it was stuffed )

The car came from Perth originallyRSR 555 wrote:Is this the same fuel you keep telling me is much cheaper down your way? I'll stick to the fuel up here
Unlike Perth where prices seem to be governed by a chocolate wheel, the price here won't go below $1.45 (coupon) or above $1.52 (fixed price) for 91. as for Myalup and Settlers road house prices, I believe they are governed by by Morgan and Bartholomew.
I would say the filter did actually do its job, as I have gotten the tank near empty quite a few of times. (working out litres to KMs)
How may KMs are these filters good for?

Knowing the previous owner, I'd say it only had the best fuel available
Fuel filters fitted in the engine bay are scheduled for change at every 50,000kms and the models with internal tank ones are at 100,000kms

No I don't think it would, I think the problem is the age of the radiator and it isn't as efficient as it should be.
A new radiator would solve the problem I hope. I have looked at many options, like this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-PULSA ... 4abcc9deb7
but I think either a custom alloy or copper and brass one may be the only solution
I will try a new thermostat before that though, as even though the one I have opens at the desired 74 degrees celsius it may not be doing that all the time.

Jet car Drives way better with PJs tyres
The fleabay radiator for the pulsar is 21 mm taller and 54 mm shorter than the L or Vortex radiator but it is twin core (32mm wide)
This radiator has caught my eye
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MAZDA-626-GE ... 4acecb09e3
it is an all copper constructed job 32mm twin core and is 23mm taller and 48mm longer than the L or vortex radiator.

Don't need custom, just buy a XT6 aluminium oneTOONGA wrote:You spring the 300 + dollars for the custom made Aluminium radiator and I will.
The Aluminium ones on Ebay have plastic end tanks and as that radiator dosen't have a filler cap I wouldn't be able to use one of them without adding a pressurised reservoir.

At least a custom made one would last longer that the car if you keep replacing your coolantTOONGA wrote:It would be cheaper to buy a custom made one
