You can use brakes from a non turbo EJ donor car, they are still better than any L series brakes. WRX ones are better tho naturally but you may be venturing into overkill territory there. I'd do it tho.

Yes I want what I paid for my CrossBred kit but all the Liberty ironmongery that suits it may get thrown in for that price .
I have a set of GC8 Rex brakes , minus rear calipers , which are same as many Nissan ones .

Gannon Gannon you should have made an offer for Ellie without its expensive Spider EA82T engine . So much value - everything done - and put an EJ engine in it .
The LSD the AWD box the rebuild able tailshaft the big bars the twin core rad new rear wheel bearings the big quiet exhaust etc etc etc .

No RX Turbo will be a cheap exercise if you intend to fit all the desirable bits into it . A lot easier and cheaper to buy a finished product .

Still count me in on your crossbred kit if you do plan to sell it. Im gonna definitely be looking for one, plus all the bits that go with it.

Im coming to Sydney in 3 weeks, i could pick it up then

As for your RX, it is very nice, and in good condition, but your EA82T, the EA AWD box and your brakes are no good to me if im going to EJ20G it, plus an EJ gearbox, and EJ brakes, plus,...

I would have been more than happy to remove the engine gearbox and rear disk brakes .

Yes the CrossBred kit can be yours and I have a set of std 1st Gen Liberty front and rear brakes and a master cylinder . From memory I also have the handbrake cables and Magna lever and the little do dats to put it together .
Also you can have a pair of 25 spline front axles std to FrWD gen 1 Lib that match your RX front DOJs .

Optional but not free are a set of five MY2000 WRX 16" wheels which I think owe me $300 .

I may be able to arrange a friends ute to bring them to you in Sydney as I have a weekend off for a change .

Also a complete set of RS WAIC bits .

PM your thoughts , cheers Adrian .

Been a while since i updated so i figured now is a good time.

I attacked the wiring loom and it was surprisingly easy

I started my labelling all the plugs i wanted to keep.
Image

Then cut off all the ones i didnt.
Image

Then i went through and labelled all the remaining wires that i will be connecting to the original wiring loom in the RX
Image

All that thats left to do is tidy up the ignition relay wires and tape it all back together

Well its just shy of 2 years since I picked up this car from Nev, but I finally have it running

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eomabyZ6X6o

The surging is a sticky IAC valve, so I will be pulling it apart the next chance I get and giving it a good clean

I still have the handbrake lever to fit, the dual range lever, the wires to the gearbox and I still have to mount a 14" thermo fan, are Davies Craig really worth 3 times that of a cheap knock off?

Good stuff mate!

I hope that idle is the IACV not operating properly.

Will you be lowering the RX to put those awesome mags closer into the guards?

You're pretty close now!

Cheers

Why does the writing highlight blue and underline, like a link, even though there is no link associated with the text.

I havent decided if I will lower it yet, maybe a little, but not much.

Id say it is the IACV because I have code 24, which relates to the idle solenoid device.

Ive decided on 2 x 10" fans because they will fit better. I have one genuine 10" Davies Craig and a former forum member said he will donate a cheapy 10" fan so it will be interesting to compare them.

That linky thing happens when you put any text below a video for some reason.
Will it ever end!?
-EA81 TWIN CARB!!!!
-L series 5 speed
-Custom paint job
-2" lift
-Full custom re-wire
-L series front end

And since some update I've not been able to click that link and have it show me the video... It's frustrating!

Just an update of pics of what Ive done recently in no particular order

RX as it stands at the moment.
1985 RX turbo, genuine BROBE vin
1995 WRX engine and 1992 Liberty dual range gearbox with a VLSD to go in the rear.
Crossbred brake kit with WRX front and rear discs
RS Liberty Radiator on custom bottom radiator support

It runs and drives but still needs tidying up body wise for inspection
The idle problem ended up being a tight throttle cable
I still have to install 2 x 10" thermo fans
I have a vacuum articulator from the centre diff lock of a Vortex turbo Im gonna use to shift between Hi and Lo range

Image

Image

RS ecu mounted in L series mounts
Image

Joined top hose until I find a proper replacement. And by the way to those who doubted me, my repaired radiator doesn't leak!
Image

Engine bay, I will be going with a WAIC soon
Image

TD04L turbo and custom recirc BOV and intake pipe setup
Image

Stealthy boost gauge, I wouldnt mind throwing a later dash cluster that has volts and oil pressure
