The Bush Banger!

Ok, my oldman came good and finally found a bush banger for my uncles farm! its got a little over 400,000 on the clock but it starts real easy doesnt seem to be leaking oil from any where. It doesnt have power steering but it does have Air conditioning, which probably will never be used. At first when he told me he got it i wanted to cut it down and weld the doors shut but i agree with him now that i have seen it, it is in too good quality for it to be cut down.

Can you guys suggest anything that should be done before it is taken to the farm? Dad and i plan on draining the radiator and refilling it. Anything else? Maybe the plugs?

I also threw in a photo of the 6 by 5 foot trailer my brother and i have been fixing it up. Like the mags on it?

I would wack a set of used rally tyres on those 13" rims for some grip in on the farm but apart from that just go enjoy it ;)

Weld the rear diff, you'll love it, especially if your uncle's property has some good 4wd'n ;)

Just be sure you shave the stub axle.

What do you mean by 'locker'?

Also does anybody have a rough guess on how much coolant is in this thing?

it is being taken up there this friday so hopefully ill get some videos of me thrashing it... Also while it is up there i will take off the things that could hold some value to others. Anything else other than the mirrors?

Take off everything that isn't required for a paddock basher and could hold some value, those centre wheel caps are often sought after also.
Also if you strip the car, less weight equals more fun (better power) ;)

Well how about this. Anyone interested in anything off it that ISNT essential for it to be a bush banger?

Would you consider exchanging the LHF mudguard for my slightly damaged one + cash?

And maybe those roof racks too, depending on how much you want for them.

Well the bush banger got there all right, when my oldman was driving it he was sitting on about 130kmph, but he was saying the suspension is screwed at some stages he was fighting it to keep it on the road! But when we got there it was all fun we went to the back fenceline of my uncle property and Flogged it along there before it got too bad. We also lost both front indicators and the rear bumper. THen when we decided we could go no furthur we had to fiure out how to turn around and go back! At which we did this then when we got to the corner a tyre got staked by stick and we had to stop to change it.

I will do this again and i definately WILL take the camera! i wont trust my oldman to remember to get it next time and i will.

Also while we were there we went through a paddock with pattersons curse or you eastern staters call it Salvation Jane. This was not a good idea, for you see it seeds got every where. They ended up getting stuck around the radiator and then got stuck between the airconditioning radiator and the normal one. So next time i go up there i have to take off the air conditioning and i was thinking about bodging a bull bar, ive got a fair bit of steel lying around here all i need is the measurements.
