Well late last year my brother got a new car so i was given his old Subaru Liberty Wagon here are some pics, i have more pics of the little nic's and dings he put into it while driving it, that i want to fix up most of them over summer or next year, i also wouldnt mind jacking it up 2" or even 3", but since i am coming up to TEE my funds are distinctly lacking so it wont happen until early next year at the earliest. Thinking about it, the car originally had air bag changeable syspension, does that make it higher or lower? If so am i able to lock it off at the higher position without buying anything else new?

I dont want to know what my brother hit, probably an old person...

Image
Looks like he hit a low hanging tree branch. Ive got no idea how to fix that one

Image
He fessed up about this one being a tree stump, ill fix it with fiber glass or something similar, i was actually thinking of using Plastibond.. Then primer and repaint that panel

Any suggestions about it would be nice. But i wont be able to fix these things until a later date...

Apart from the few little imperfections (which all cars that age have), looks like a very clean lib!

What model / transmission / ks, does it have?

Glad to hear you have some plans for it as well. I wouldn't get too excited about the airbags, I'm not sure how they work. But they will make the ride height higher from standard, about 1" I believe.

Geez what model ive got no real clue.. I had a look its a 1993 2.2L if that helps.. its got a 5 speed manual that is very clean and easy to use the only fault the gear box has, when its on a cold engine its tricky to get into second, and from memory its coming up 270,000 km's but it has never missed a service ive got every receipt from the pervious owner and never missed one since ive had it or my brothers had it.

By model I just mean, Lx or Gx - Difference being, Gx is the 'luxury' model, having electric windows, cruise control rah rah rah.
Lx is the base model with the power windows only, I think.

Seems like you have some life left in the block then, with a full service history and if it drives well.

Its a GX then everything is electric, except the seats...

Yep seats aren't electric ;)

Good luck with it mate, I look forward to seeing you fix the body up a little.

Ps: Pics are your friend...

Nice lib there Kappage! I wouldn't worry about those little consmetic things - I'm sure you'll add to them when you get lift and tyres etc ;)

The airbag suspension can apparently make the car feel like its floating over the road. A lot of people pull this out and replace it with the standard spring setup to avoid problems with old clapped out airbags...

Anyhow it looks like you've got a good starting base there.

Cheers

Nice, reminds me i should give my gen1 Liberty a clean. My old Leone had the old blue vinyle interior, i thinks the blue works better than the grey.
