4wd MY's fit the 5sp pretty easy I hear. 2wd auto MY's are about the same as 4wd MY's I hear. 2wd Manuals on the other hand... too much work, and I'd just through a lift under it if I was to do it again. But I wanted to get it done and once you start....

Put the flares on the other day and made up some mud flaps with chain to hold them outta the way of the tyres.

Yeah sorry about the crap pictures.
I use that jack because they are quadzillion times better then the scissor jacks. I do however have two scissor jacks and a hydraulic jack in the shed to use when needed. Just gotta watch ya self when lifting a car with three jacks :-O

I changed the screws in the mudflaps for round head ones today as well as fixed the mount for the shifter plate so it no longer touches the propshaft. But by 11am it was 38degrees and getting hotter, so I left it at that. Got to 42.5 here today

I just think that everything within reason is doable DIY style. And with that line of thought I start pretty much anything and don't stop til its done. I am a very persistent person. Drives myself up the wall.

You might of seen these in the SA forum but I'll put them here anyhow because its hot, and I'm bored.
The little subies first trip. Left home for the 339km journey to Loveday 4x4 Park with only 39km on the odo of test drives. Got there fine, just some heating problems, as in it wouldn't get warm even with the new thermostat. At loveday drove around about 90km off roading. Gave it some good bashing. A few dents under the body. Fenders got dented because the tyres rubbed. Rear tyres rubbed as well so need to do some hammering. My new bump stops weren't quite tall enough. The thermo fans came on 4 or 5 times on Saturday and once on Sunday (this is on a 35 degree or so day offroading). Trip home was fine appart from the car stalling between slow gear changes because it wanted the choke most of the way, also had my brother drafting me in his overheating 4runner through the hills. Now I need new ball joints, because the boots were broken before I went up there and no the joints are full of mud and dust. Need to put some extra steel on the swing arms for the bump stops to stop tyres rubbing. And need to bash some more of the battery tray to stop tyres rubbing and also figure out how to stop the tyres hitting the top of the front fenders.
