Frank is In WHHHHHOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry theres very few pictures as we spent most of the time working frantically to get Frank in running order.

A big thanks to everyone who helped especially Paul and Tristian for putting up with my insanity on Sunday and right through to 4.30 am on Monday morning when I left to drive PJ back to Australind

sadly the carby will need to be rejetted or replaced with a smaller carby and Im driving with no centre console or a rubber flange on the shifter to seperate the road noise from the interior .

Having said that when she isn't drowning in fuel PJ goes like a small rocket and having AWD is a marvel in the wet no more front wheelspin at the lights or at any point for that matter

once again a big thankyou from me and PJ for everyones help over the course of putting this all together

there are plenty of tuning books available for holleys even from public libary. i reckon you will need to change air bleeds on mains and idle. they are pretty simple to play with, the hardest bit is working out if they are rich or lean and what part of the fuel circuit is in control and will have the most effect.
remember if you enlarge air bleeds you lean carb out, and go very small steps.
you may find at cruize you are actually lean as the small motor gives a weaker signal to the carb. you are probably way big on accelerator pump and rich at power valve.
easy to determine whats what with wide band airfuelratio meter, and easier than plug chop method

Good work toonga!

I'm guessing (as my memory fails me) EJ18 with EJ AWD gearbox? Nice. I too can't wait for AWD goodness!

As for the holley thing (and the brizilian kid) thing, you'll work it out at some stage. Give the brizilian kid to Alex for one week, don't tell him she's wearing an electric shock chastity belt and I'm sure you'll get her back soon enough. Alex might even learn something  And you'll get a week off. Jokes...

And where are the pics???

Cheers

yep she is going well and thanks for the carby research

I got most of a centre console that will fit I just need the part which I left at RSR preformance :( and it will all go in

I just need to source some rubber to make a flange up to make up for the difference in shifter position

Jack not a problem Im going to look around for smaller main jets and adjust the accelerator pump spring so it engages a lot slower. and im also looking at the posibility of the carby Dave metioned or modifying my manifold to take a smaller weber or holley or a hitachi (shudder) even

Hi Julian, any pics or vids yet mate...and are you happy with the overall result?

Im very happy with the results and sorry no pics or video yet but that will come hopefully tomorrow wifey permitting

I sourced some smaller jets for the carby (42's) they cost 14 dollars so that was a nice suprise and some new spark plugs bosch yridiums or something for 13 dollars for a set I think they are about 28 dollars a set normally

some little bugs to iron out like no temp gauge (Im working on that one) anyone out there got a nissan 82 -94 temp sender? a part of the centre console is in Perth still, so no complete console there and Ive got no choke so cold starts are a bit of fun

I remember now I was outside in the dark, alone (be thankful I tell you and I remembered to flush) and wondering how long it would take to drive back to Australind

and as promised some pictures

my fingers 2 days after I tried to solder them to the radiator one has decided to heal the other has cracked and bleeds profusely when I think about using it

the console (spot the difference) for now it is in place and the breeze is stopped by a inner tube cut to shape and forced over the tunnel
