D3V1Ls New ride ---***NOW WITH LOTS OF PICTURES****

Post by D3V1L » Mon Mar 03, 2008 9:10 pm

hey all..after screwing around with other ideas..ie: wrx's and all that ive decided that i much prefer offroad vehicles..and decided to go back to an offroader

what i wanted was something reliable and very comfortable onroad..which has a bit of offroad capabilities..ie: fishing..camping and most casual offroading weekends...

so i looked and huffed around and finally decided to get a generation 2...not just a liberyt but an outback...as i havnt seen any other ppl on here with outbacks so a couple of weeks ago i put a deposit down on this little beauty and i finally pick her up within a day or two so im excited

fist on the way is raised springs all round and big tyres, then a 3" lift kit is in order.

it will have a stereo and bullbar and all that jizz jazz.. but ill go through that crap as i do it.... here is a couple of pics.

its auto, 2.5, dual sunroofs, basically its top of range without leather.....caus im not a fan of leather in a offroader...little impractical in my opinion..

ok guys update

finished stereo install..its big and sounds awesome

raised king springs have been ordered
tyres have been chosen and waiting for lift
lift kit is still "attempting" to be ordered as none of the lift kit makers want to respond to any of my emails or calls

took her for a test in some sand and what not today and doesnt hesitate at all..loves it down to the last bit..looking foreward to seeing what she can do on a more involved trip

cheers

to me a gen 3 is still too good to destroy as an offroader

plus the prices are still a little rich for my limited funds

here is some pictures of it today in action!!!! VERY sexy car...

the auto handles the sand well..HOWEVER!!!! on exiting the beach...a long stretch of reasonably boggy sand up a long gradual steepish hill defeat the first attempt:(...the auto just stopped and the wheels would not turn...so off went the aircon and out got 4 other ppl and she cruised over with ease....didnt think few ppl would realy make that much of a difference but i guess i was wrong . needs a transmission cooler caus she smelt a little after that flog up the hill but it happens :)
oh well...still a happy man...lifted springs shortly and lift kit as soon as somebody replies to my messages

my baby has been taken on her first fishing trip and it was a great success!!!

Did you get a rear lsd ? most do not have one fitted .My H6 did not have one fitted I have not seen one from stock with a lsd

Dave the bigest oil cooler you can get comes off a ford , ford wreckers sell them for around $20.00 just make sure you flush the unit out first
