shuff's el'cheapo liberty
shuff's el'cheapo liberty
i think she needs a mexican name this one, dont know why.....
it is a 91 liberty wagon, ej22 dual range awd. with a stupid muffler and 16" wheels (good tread).
i paid $1300 should have offered less
its pretty straight
im thinking wheels on the forester (wifes car), use the steel wheels for this and maybe some lift? oh and remove all the stickers, reblacken trim bits, reattach roof racks better (but thats all cosmetic)
thats after i replace one drive shaft and figure out why the shifter is to far forward???
quick question are drive shafts interchangeable between early liberty manual and say a 98 outback auto?

well considering my old lifted L was a liberty in a lifted L series body, this should go alright.
and i've got the vortex with the same running gear, you could say i like ej22's.
and bennie my old L cost $1250 and then i sunk some money into it, plus rego. this was $50 more with rego just needs lift
looks like it has king spings/newer struts. might be able to do a deal somewhere.

well today i swapped out the driveshaft that was knackered with the one from a 98 outback.... well because i couldnt be bothered removing either shaft from ther hubs, i have lower control arm/hub/drive shft from the outback on my libery. it bolted straight up, with no dramas! all i did was remove the abs sensor.
i'll do the other side tomorrow, and maybe throw the cross member spacer in there to.
the steering rack is also loose on one side, so guess what..... the outback one will be making its way there too

today i removed the roof lining, the fabric was starting to come away from the backing.
i'll be making a trip to spotlight and getting the most boy'ish fabric i can to re-cover it (im thinking bikes/camo/anything fun)
and while it was out i removed the top trim that runs along the windows, broke the rear quater window trim *duh*. i'll be sanding them back and re-painting black.

photobucket is being a bitch lately, but i started on the roof lining. went a bit nautical, red with little blue and white anchors on it.
half is stuck, i need more spray adhesive
oh and the other day when i changed the driveshaft on the drivers side.... well i changed a bit more, below is a 90's liberty control arm/hub/driveshaft.
and this is the 98 outback unit, its only the rear mount that seems differant.
