another Brumby Project

Post by Green_eyed_liberty » Sun Aug 08, 2010 6:42 pm

hey guys, been talking about it for a while now, so thought its about time i threw some pictures up.

the engine is a stocko EA81, but might do a little bit to it to bring out a few more ponys:
advance the timing
upgrade the plugs, leads, dizzy points, and coil
better airfilter setup?
exhaust from cat back

stocko 4speed, done the bushes in the shifter.. but still feels loose and 8ball gearball haha

bullbar from L series (thinking of swapping for a brumby bullbar)
scoop from GT Forrester
Sidesteps
14" sunnys with big rubber

future mods:
rollbar with spotties
EJ conversion when EA dies
body lift if have any dramas with clearance
upgrade headlights to aftermarket
powersteering

its been a project that myself and a few mates have been working on the past few weekends

we have just finished painting the shell, roof/rear and bonnet.

Very nice mate. Should look hot when finished. I think your mad if you swap that bar I think it looks hot.

Are you planing on taking off the doors and front quaters to paint them or do the whole lot over in one hit.

It is gonna look great when finished. Just remember to paint the headlight side of the bullbar with black non reflecting something so not to blind self at night :). Got a close up shot of the fit of the Foz nostril ?

the shell just got painted this saturday gone, its all just been pieced together as im going to America for a holiday. yes it will be pulled apart again to be primed/painted :-)

i was going to recess the bonnet scoop in and have it flush.. but upon priming the bonnet showed that the bonnet was not in the best condition (resembles golfball) so just going to glue/bolt it on top (just sitting on top in the pictures, hence why you can see sunlight through it haha)

i like the bar (its shiney :-D) altho i'm going to have to elongate the holes to pull the bar up 15mm so there is no gap. and it sits a little wide.. but will see how it looks when its all finished. going to have to put them rubber flares on to widen the car to match the bar :-)

I somehow managed to miss this thread! The car looks amazing, especially here: showpost.php?p=153714&postcount=6

Look forward to any more pics of this car that grace this forum.

seeing Hotshot has bumped this thread i better do an update :-D

now has a 2" Lift in, Roll Bar, Roof Lights, rear light, 5th Sunny with Buckshot (spare), modified the front bar more to sit closer to the body, Winch mounted behind/in bullbar, made myself a "sports" muffler and tip.. but center section has rusted out :-(, taken all the slop out of the shifter and modified it to suit the lift, new longer brakelines, new longer rear shocks, racing steeringwheel, twin bucketseats.

trying to figure out the front suspension to get a bit more lift

also entered the Boonah show over the weekend (a B&S type thing)
had half a dozen blokes come up and had a chat as they owned/own a brumby, and loved what i had done to it. i didnt win any prizes (best ute etc) but got chosen to compete in the Gymkhana (six cars out of 60) so had a ball with that. and had alot of admirers doing the victory laps/parade laps
