Leggy from Scotland

Post by Dougie » Fri Feb 20, 2009 6:40 am

Hi all ,Newbie from Scotland here, but soon moving to Melbourne, so thought i would join up as i have been watching alot of your Video's on U tube and i can't watch to get a bit of that action, nothing like that over here,
Heres a a pic pf my lastest Leggythat i just bought.
Its a 98 LX Awd 2.0, with only 125000miles on the clock , real nice car, one very careful previous owner and he was a OAP, I wont be doing much to it apart from outback alloys and raising it abit, hopefully moving soon and will need to leave it behind :(
Hopefully get another when i'm across there and then i can mod it for offroading and meet up with some of you.

Welcome... when you get to Australia (I'm from Melbourne as well) you can easily find Liberty (also named as "Legacy") that model you have there would be EJ22s or EJ25s) otherwise newer model after yours is EJ20 or EJ25s..(Outbacks are EJ25s only)
Good Luck with the move, have you thought about bringing your Legacy over by shipment?
Cheers

Leggy from Scotland

Post by Dougie » Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:51 pm

Thanks for the warm welcome, I wouldnt mind another liberty/ legacy when i get over but would need to be a Outback, but do perfer old skool subi's , Brumby,s L series etc, are there many out there available at a decent price?, I cant justify bringing my leggy over as it only cost £400 T and T and i bought it to do me till i move,
I did look into importing a car before but way too expensive, i just had to sell my mkII Golf GTI to help with visa medical bills.
I m in Dunfermline at present and my OH works and travels to Edinburgh daily, I agree nice place but only too visit, not to stay as our weather is wet wet and sunny, no more wet, sometimes feels as if we get 8 seasons in one day and winter 8 months a year lol.
Can't wait to get over, my visa is in the final stages of the process, so hopefully not be long. Im coming over in november for a holiday, to get my bearing with the area in which my friends house is, where i will be staying for a few years and also to check out the job situation in that area while im on holiday.

Not really similar to melbourne, but there are times when it feels like antartica has moved into port phillip bay. Its a very rare event for melbourne to get snow fall, I don't think its ever had snow settle on the ground for any longer than a minute if it ever got that far, but about a half hour to an hour out of town gets snow fall every couple of years, it can settle for a few days. Other than that, the nearest snow field is a 2 hour drive from melbourne.

Hope you pack a good jacket though - I've been told that the cold down here is different to the cold you get in europe...

Cheers
