Re: Largest tyre to fit into MY/Brumby spare holder ?
UPDATE !!!
For some totally unknown reason, the exact tyre that is shown in the above photo of a MY touring wagon - will not fit into the same space in a 1989 Targa Brumby !!!!???
the aircleaner seems to be 10-15mm closer to the firewall and is preventing the tyre from slipping down into the firewall/bonnet sill slot.
As far as i know there are no issues that should have made the engine retreat 10mm to 15mm rearwards - but there we are.
Its not an issue related to engine height/lift kits etc as its not the engine height that is the issue.
Ahh well.

Weird!
I wonder...could the touring wagon and the Brumby have different intake manifolds/carbie versions, which would affect the position of the air cleaner?

Re: Largest tyre to fit into MY/Brumby spare holder ?
Interesting about the space difference with the touring wagon vs the targa brumby. What year model is/was the touring wagon?
Does the targa brumby have the stock intake and carb fitted, or is there an L series intake/Weber carb in the mix here? If stock it does seem odd. Maybe someone put replacement engine mounts in backwards if that’s even possible??
Good info none the less!
Cheers

Sorry I'm not near my Touring wagon to be able to check that measurement ... :/
Mine is an Auto if that makes any difference in the mounting position of engine forwards an extra few mm ?
