Hi All,

Trying to buy some centre caps for my brumby. It has the 'sunraysia type' 14" rims on it but I don't know which specific brand they are. Is there a way to check? They also have a red and green line running around the edge of the rim near the tyre if that helps. The diameter of the centre hole seems to be around 105mm(?) but I cant seem to find any centre caps that size.

Thanks for any help,
Dave.

Speedy ...

Post by Bantum » Tue Aug 26, 2014 12:43 pm

By the sounds of it, that would be a 'Speedy Desert Rat' - I would need a photo to confirm this.

Sorry it's an aftermarket wheel, so there is no genuine 'Subaru' cap that will fit as far as I know, however there is a 'cup' type center cap I've seen that might fit ... ;)
( I'll post a pic of it when I find it ... )

Or you can put a 'spacer' locating ring in there ... :p

Add : Thanks to Phil, who posted these :

Should do the trick ... :)

Add : & yes they are aluminium rings turned specifically to suit Speedy Wheels & Subaru Center Caps / Hub ...

Ok Found it :

More info to be had here : http://www.speedywheels.com.au/SpeedyWheels14.pdf

Not sure which one will fit will as you will have to measure the center hole diameter to suit your wheel ... :p

Anyone know were to get these from ?
Mine are cracked on the rear section where the steel section screws on.
Courtesy of tyre services in the past that knocked the cap out for wheel work.

Cap Searching ...

Post by Bantum » Mon Sep 01, 2014 12:15 am

Yep that sucks with cowboy tyre fitters ... :(

I normally try & take the caps off myself first before taking wheels into a tyre shop. It's also handy to have a spare set of wheels to swap out, so you can then just drop off the ones that needs fixing & still use your car ... :D

Haven't had any luck yet with finding any more of the center caps yet, will keep searching eBay etc. for them & will let you know if I come across any ... ;)

P.S. - Apologies for the images not working by the look of things - I will have go back & fix them later ...

Cheers, Bantum ...

More Hubcaps ...

Post by Bantum » Wed Sep 10, 2014 2:41 am

Ok - I found a US site that may have them :

http://www.hubcaps.org/options/subc15options.html

@ $30 US bucks each + postage is bit steep - so I will keep trying to find some closer to home ... :)

Add : Bennie - Yep it does too !

I am not using the original wheel caps as the plastic does become brittle with age and I was worried about them breaking, so I bought these, a perfect fit and relatively cheap too.

No logo caps - eBAy

I then made up logos from this UK based site:

Heko Domed Badges

The end result is not bad at all! I will post some photos later.
