rims and wheels for impreza 09

Post by mobaru » Thu Jan 31, 2013 4:20 pm

so I currently have a impreza sedan with 205/55/16 91W tyres on them however I now want to change my rims.

Many tyre shops have mentioned 16" are rare to find as they are not popular and have suggested to move to 17". If so what would be a relatively decent size that would not affect accleration and mobility,

Also in terms of brand (style isnt an issue) besides the genuine Subaru products, any other decent rim brands.

Are 16" tyres really that rare, Im sure there are plenty of cars out there with 16" wheels

Go for genuine subaru rims as there are heaps to chose from and they are well made.
205/50r17 would be the go to get close to correct rolling diameter, in this case when your speedo shows 100kmh, you will actually be travelling at 100.8kmh

Huh... 16" rare? thats BS, you would find getting 18" genuine rims harder to find than 16"!
Personally I would go for Subaru rims because they are made for Subaru, there is heaps of Subaru rims out there, with after market rims you have to check the wheel offset, Subaru rim offset is +55 (Outback is +48) and the bolt pattern. The problem with wheel offset is your wheel bearings & rubbing on the guards etc with the bearings can cause prematurely wear (one guy down the road from me had seized wheels bearings due incorrect offset as his rims/wheels were outside of the flanges on his Honda and the bearings had 'welded' onto the hub and whole hub had to be replaced)
my 2c worth

Those rims sounds good. But if you use some other color bolts then they will be more attractive. Anyhow but I think this is also good.. what is the size of the rims? I guess they 17".. Thanks for sharing.
