Hey Guys,

So when I get my car back from the smash repair place, 5 grand later (thank god for insurance) I was thinking about putting on some all terrain tyres.

Anybody had any experience with Maxxis AT-771 Bravo ?

Can get them in a nice small size to fit my relatively unlifted car, 205/70R15

Do shops do test fit? and if they dont fit they just charge you for the cost of fitment but not the tyres?

Hi mate, get Yokohama Geolanders in a 205/70R15. I had them, then had them in a 215/70R15. Very good all terrain tyres. Cheap in stock size. I am now running Dunlop AT3's in 225/70R15 and they are crap.
With my geolanders I got almost 50,000km from a set of 4 and they never let me down other than a few minor punctures when they were starting to get bald.

They grip very well onroad and were exceptional offroad.

I'd highly recommend them mate...

Which particular ones, Taza? I think even the OEM Yokos road bias tyres are branded with "Geolandar".

I'll plonk for the A/T-Ses, found them just like you described except sqirmy/slidy cornering onroad in the dry. I'll recommend them too.

They are also one of the few all-terrain-type tyres at 215/65R16 in Oz I could find, but without the white sidewall lettering.

A mate of mine had then on his Hi-lux he got 100000km out of them but a big But he drives like Miss Daisy
He found they where ok but in wet clay they weren't that good.

Yes the AT-S, sorry. The stock OEM road Geolander's or Yoko of sorts are very average both on and offroad.

I have found the AT-S to be very good onroad for an offroad tyre, especially in comparison to Bridgestone Duelers, BFG's, Dunlops and the likes.
I wish I didn't get my Dunlops, I think I will only get 15-20k from them
They squeal everywhere and have no grip, they are alright offroad but rocks and gravel are ripping the soft tread into pieces.. I will be going back to the AT-S when these wear out..
I found them good in the dry and I drive hard aswell. Really hard.. But in comparison to say Toyo road tyres there just isn't any grip wise..

That doesn't surprise me. Might of been the Light Truck version which is the same tread just more off it and harder compound I think. L/T isn't necessary for a light Subaru..
They aren't an mud tyre but for an a/t I found them alright in mud, they got me where I wanted to get through

+1 for the yoko geolanders, fantastic and come in (legal) stock size.

also my mate runs maxxis bravo's at's on his 4by and they are terrible, there cheap but side walls are weak, not aggressive at all off road and they wear very quickly

I have Maxxis 771 on a Navara and love them.

Yeah geolanders were my other option, does anybody know if I can test fit them anywhere? Don't wanna spend 200 a corner and have them not fit.

I run a goodyear wrangler ATR in 205/75R15

they have been a brilliant tyre and have survived cape york, the plenty highway, savannah way etc without a single flat. good on the beach too.

I think I am going to struggle fitting 205/70R15 to a bog stock GD Impreza. Just wish there was an easy way to find out.

i recon they could just fit, but not 100% certain.
unfortunately you wont find much in a smaller size
except rally tyres?... i think there size is often 205/65 r15 which will be better off-road then your roadies

Yeah currently running road tires on 16's but have a set of kuhmo ecsta R700 on 15's but they aren't road legal. I'm sure cops wouldn't notice buy it only takes one.

Running 215/75/15 on my Gen1 92 GX Wagon.

They fit without any cutting, but i cut and bashed each firewall so i dont get rubbing on full lock and wheel travel.
