Hey guys, current talks on wheel arch flares has got me thinking.. I have an L that I have a set of 14" alloys rims on and they stick out ever so slightly. I would like to put a set of plastic/rubber flares on but would like to see what's available.. can you post a pic or give me some ideas?

I have seen the rubber ones (like TOONGA's Brumby) but don't need them that bulky if you know what I mean?

i think repco sells felxi flares in 2 or 3 sizes

not sure if they get too much smaller than toonga's tho

These 35mm ones look pretty good, 2 kits would probably do 3 cars.......Though it says 70mm at the bottom of the add???????

Head to clark rubber, ask for the smaller wheel arch rubber flaring. Grab a couple of metres, then pay $7ish a metre for it. I'll see if i can chase up some pics of mine.

Its just a big roll of rubber flaring and you get say 5 metres, then trim to size. It has a small lip on it so you can easily screw to the underlip of the guard.

yep I was going to say the same, the bulky rear stuff on mine is the big stuff from clark rubber. From memory they did 3 sizes the smallest was about 25mm after the lip.

I ran 14 inch Speedys that technically were proud of the fenders.

From Clark rubber, bought the flares as previously advised. I than cut the 'flare' off down to the lip, which was just right. Also mated into the rear mud flap and RX Turbo splats perfectly.

Tip for cutting rubber - use water and a sharp knife - will slice like butter

hot water? or just flowing water out of the tap?

Thanks guys for all your input but I feel these are very similar to what I don't want but cheers anyway. I have used the ones from clark rubber before and found after a few months of hot weather, they tend to go out of shape. I've used the ones from the 4WD shops (with the wire in them) but again they all are very large.

This might be an option although its designed for cut fenders.

I bought rubber flares from opposite Lock for my L series. They came in a few different sizes. I lined it with thin metal to reduce the number of screws required to hold it in place.
The draw back I have with those flares is the wheels occasionally rub against flares.
