More wheel id'ing needed

Post by Bogged! » Mon Jun 14, 2010 9:27 pm

What wheels are these? I got them from a local scrapyard for the scrap value so not much lost if they don't work out, they are obviously Subaru and a '99 model but off what? I have looked and checked eBay, this forum as well as every other picture available but no go so far. There are similar wheels (nice 5 spoke ones) off Liberty RS's, Rx's Impreza etc. as well as similar but nothing so far to id these 16x7's. They have the Subaru symbol cast on the back. Sandblasted and repainted either gold or black two pack they wouldn't be too bad would they or forget it and just buy a set of good ones?

Looks rexy to me. Jolly decent of a wrecker to sell as scrap value rather than thinking maximum you may be prepared to pay plus a bit more

Exactly the same as what i bought to put on my Liberty. 2000 - 2001 impreza wheels, not sure but i think there is an STi version that came in gold but otherwise the same.

I use this page for identifying subaru wheels

i would have said rx limited edition, like off my mates 95
but yeah his are gold/silve cant quite remember

one thing ive heard of doing is painting MAGS black and putting themon trailers.
wheels make up a hell of a lot of weight on a small trailer

Good one, thanks a heap guys. It's excellent that all you guys know what they are as I only thought they might be WRX, can't seem to find any pictures of good nick ones anywhere. Thank you for the link to wheels, same as the ones fitted to the Forester in silver with four spots on it:D

Hard to tell from the pic but possibly chrome versions of these Mitsubishi Pajero/Triton steel wheels currently listed on ebay. Bolt pattern will be 6x140mm.

From memory, Pajero rims are 16" for that era (late 80s/early 90s). Chrome is on the V6, white on the 4-cylinder. My dad had a 91 (last of the boxy shape before they went all plastic) and it was definitely white hubs on the 4-cylinder (gutless 2600 silent shaft - was ok in Sigma's, but pulling around a 2 tonne 4wd...)
