Finally achieved one of my main Forester Mod goals today...
I've done enough lifting work to get BF Goodrich AT 215/75/R15s under him....
With only a slight rubbing on full lock and heaps of space to spare under the rear spring seats....A little cabin noise. Meh... small price.
My orignal ground clearance was somewhere around 190mm along most of the car.
Now i've got 300mm under the rear diff and 260mm under the gearbox crossmount bar and 250 under the lowest part of the sump guard.
I'm pretty happy. Only thing left to do is get em dirty.
Pics ofcourse......

Only thing is the spare doesnt fit in the wheel well. Wont be a prob when the rear bar comes along. The tyre kinda slopes up towards the front so I've had to pack around it in order to get it all sitting flat.... I've got a big rubber mat that goes over the top anyway...

Have you tried it in the wheel well deflated?
My wife's 2003 XS is running 235/16/60 Coopers which are only about 15mm smaller diameter than your tires. Just fits in the well deflated and cranked down tight.

For those who need further explanation.........carry a PUMP (not the type that enlarges small appendages)...... But I assumed that was obvious, as is carry a jack and something to undo the wheel nuts!.
Just thought all that packing looked like a lot of lost space for camping gear.
Another option I have heard done involves modification of the wheel well..$$$$$

Looking the part there SKT! Very nice work on that foz, it almost makes me give up the L - until I stop to think of the upcoming mods for it and the overall cost of the foz
Not much longer as a uni student now (I've actually handed in my last assignment)
If I get my way you may see me over there next year some time

(I wanted it to be this year but Ruby Scoo isn't up for it)
Cheers

Stuff the tyres, were did you get your snorkel and from what?
It is good to see people using the Forester for what they are meant rather than the run of the mill lowering they all seem to be getting these days.
I am interested to see what you think about the BFG's once you have had them in the wet on road. I am not a fan of them but a lot of people are. Only experience I have had with them is not good on wet bitumen but pretty well bullet proof off road.

I let it down to 18 psi and not much better. I'd rather put the effort in and have an inflated spare to roll with. I can stor eit at 30 psi this way. I'm happy to pack it up around it. Just need to pack up behind the seats so when I sleep in the back its the same level.
There's still a heap of velcro and stuff to get it neat and tidy . This is more of a prototype at the moment. I intend to get a pro job done eventually with a few drawers and stuff.....
