Brumby Tyres - What Size

I've got a 91 Brumby ute and it's due for 2 new tyres (stock standard rims all round). At the moment I have 175/75 13" tyres all round.

A quick ring around town today chasing new tyres from the 4 local tyre dealers reveals that 175/75 13's are not in stock and hard to come by BUT all of them can fit 175 /70 13's and have them in stock

I'm not up on tyres - am I going to notice much of a difference or is there a better tyre size I could put in the rims??

i'm no expert but i don't think there is a huge difference in the tyres, check out the link for comparisons

However you mentioned only replacing 2 tyres, I would suggest that you need all for tyres the same size.

Need all 4 tyres to be the same size if you want to use 4WD.

You'd be better off fitting 185's with a 70 or 65 profile. They'll be much the same diameter and there'll be heaps of choices in that size too since a lot of medium sized and small cars have used 185's. No need to worry about being too big for the guards or anything like that.

Hi, thx for all the suggesstions. As a temporary measure I went for a set of 175 70 13's at $50 bucks each (inc GST) fitted and balanced from Benalla Auto (http://www.benallauto.com.au). They're chinese made things branded as BCT ... be interesting to see how long they last.
