Pug wheels vs. Sunraysias

Post by mroberts » Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:35 am

A few wheel questions I couldn't find the answers to anywhere else.

1) What is the stock 13" wheel width ?
2) What is the width of 14" "Sunraysia"s
3) Can you get 15" pug wheels in the correct offset ?
4) What is the maximum road tyre (stock overall diameter) width you can fit on 13" stockers vs. 14" Sunny's ?

Thanks

4) Varies.
Toyota 105 Series LandCruiser (that nobody on here wants to really hear about).
RX Touring Wagon - fitted out for 4WDing (currently collecting dust).
RX Project - will be road only at this stage (and currently taking way to long to finish).

1) OK, looks like the 13's I have are 5" wide.
2) What if they look like the attached pic - what's the most likely width, or at least the range ?

3) Fair enough
4) Is there a site that lists max tyre width vs. rim width ?

Yeah, I was chatting with a Pug mechanic who had a bunch of them around. Useless as tits on a bull these days.

No site that I know of, but... heres what I know.
265mm wide is about the widest for a 7" rim if it has a big side wall.
215/60R15's are about as much as you want to go on a 6" wide 15" wheel for road use.
235/70R14's are ok for the 6" wide Speedy's.

A general rule I read was a wheel must not be less then 73% skinner then the tyres width for on-road use. But of cause soon as the tyre wall gets bigger so can the width of the tyre.

Turns out I have Sunraysias after all. Guy at the Suby place thinks they're 5.5"x13".

I have 185/70/13s on them. Did they actually make a 5.5, or am I likely to have 5s ?

Can you put a 185/70/13 on a 13x5 ?

Is the width printed somewhere on the back ?

I dunno if they made 5.5s but my factory subaru 'sunraysia' style wheels on my L series have 13 x 5 printed on the front & yes you can run 185s

I have a set of 13x5.5 sunnies here that look almost like the desert rats. I wonder if there was a bunch made by a company or something. There the only set I've seen like this.
