What 14" rims is this???

Post by guyph_01 » Fri May 07, 2010 9:52 am

Hi guys,

I bought a set of 14" yesterday and realised one was different.
They were said to be Sunraysia rims. Are their two types of Sunraysia Rims?

Anyway i was hoping someone can recognise or even better if someone had one or two the same they would want to sell

Pic below, The first one is the normal Sunraysia rims with the red and green stripes. The second is the one i don't know and need one or two more.

You can see the triangles are different and the angle of the middle part is different too. they are very similar but they have a slightly different offset and shape. The second rim has a longer lip that comes out of the tyre.

Let me know if you know what they are and if you would have one or two for sale.

thx
Guy

I've found that Speedy wheels make the Desert Rat with a red and green stripe

http://www.speedywheels.com.au/images/z ... rt-rat.htm

And All Wheels do the Coyote with a blue stripe

http://www.allwheels.com.au/cata/produc ... 257&page=1

The Desert Rats have more offset and sit further out of the guards. Here is the best thing. If you are running L series control arms and hubs in an MY, you can even up the track width difference front to rear by running Coyote front and Desert Rat rear. I'll take a photo for you.

They're probably about $70 new... courier costs from me would be too much. Good luck.

yer theres a BIG thread that jaffa/Blackmale had about the two typs of rims a while back... caus of the different offset and slightly different design.

ill try dig them up, but the above info is fairly true anyways

most of the ones around these days are the speedy's

yeh $70 brand new from bobjane

the older ones with the better offset are a little harder to find but still exist...i had one of these as a spare

davo
no more subarus

Not much use to ya mate, but the same thing happened to me. Picked up 4 in Bunbury for $20 each. Picked up one with a different profile, and had to hot foot it back next day to get one to complete the set. I think they were of Subaru wagons. He had a few of them left.
