Hi every the story goes.
The gearbox died 1/2 way off the beach at freshwater got towed to the camp site thought it might be the cv's but no luck
Decided to go to rainbow beach town to find a car trailer and tow it home none there try gympie so we drove 70 km to gympie got it 2 1/2 hours later got back on the freshwater track 13km to camp took aprox 1 hour loaded the car on got going yahoo!!!
Only got couple k's and had a blowout on the trailer there was no spare i didn't think to look when we got it
So we kept driving very slow wheel got buckled then lost tail lights because tyre ripped the wire out then took the wheel off to see if we could drive without it no luck by this time i'm prity p.... off
The whole time every body was helping out.
By about 11pm we got to the main road i rang the racq to tow the car and trailer to rainbow and leave it there till monday we left there at about 12 oclock got home 3:15am. Got to bed 4am got up 6am and my sister and i hired another trailer in Brisbane and headed buck up to Rainbow in her troopy picked the car up and got home 3:30 pm
There is more to it then that but it's to longer storey
Jan

Who towed the trailer though the freshwater track ? That would have been interesting to say the least.

I want to know if that hilux that went up the cutting Friday, just after midday (with an outback and another vehicle) got any flats as a result? Hit it at huge speed, bottomed tyres out and bounced front of vehicle high into the air. I was on my way home from a trip to Fraser Is.

btw you could get up in the sand to the left (going up) of the ramp quite easily (except the bloke in the pathfinder who didn't have a clue what he was doing).

we all went up the left side of hte boards, it was really the only way up.

the problem wasnt getting up - it was staking tyres on the splintered timber

Wasn't me. Got no air and only hit it in second low. I was never driving with an outback either.

I went straight up the middle both times. Once on the way home from Fraser and once coming back from rainbow.

Off to Fraser again next week for the 3rd week in a row. I am actually getting sick of the beach.

BTW, did any one get some pics of Dane getting bogged going down the beach?

No pics here but loved the wall of sand that was thrown up in the area at the same time.

Yep, I saw you go straight up the middle of the cutting on the Friday - nice and smooth too. Not like the Hilux (I think) that smashed its way up just in front of you!! I thought you must have been together as you both overtook me (white Forester towing trailer) later a fair way further south (seemingly in convoy).

You sure it wasnt a Bitsashiti Triton and not a hilux, am pretty sure Brett had a triton in his convoy.

Yeah it was a Hilux. We were on our way home from working on Fraser. We have been there for the last 3 weeks so far. Still got another 7 houses to do after these two.

I saw you sitting at the side there and wondered if I knew the car/person or not.
