after investigating it probably isn't, too small. I get them in the garden up here and was told not to touch them!

You get brown snakes there too, I once had a massive one "stand up" & stare at me as I walked about 30m away. His head was about 3' off the ground, just like you see cobras do on TV. very intimidating!

No king browns though, thats more central Aus.

This guy was about 1/2 the thickness of a pencil & about as long with a bright pink belly. A great find

I've seen so many amazing wildlife there:
Western red kangaroos; Eastern & Western Grey kangaroos; Euros; Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies; Redneck Wallabies (gotta watch these guys, they tend to carry guns!); other wallabies, not sure of the type; brown snakes; Blind Snakes (even saw a breeding pair entwined around each other); Worm Snake; Barking Geckos; Marbled Geckos; many other species of gecko; Blue Tongues (Common or Eastern & Western); Stumpies (also known as shingleback, pine cone or sleepy lizard); Legless Lizards; several species of scorpion (one up to 6" long!); funnel web & trapdoor spiders; huge centipedes; emus; black cockatoos; a heap of different raptors; the list goes on...amazing biodiversity for a semi arid area!

Unfortunately also a heap of goats & other ferals :(

That was just using a compact: Canon A590IS

Pretty basic by todays standard: 8MP & 4x zoom but at least it has IS.

I've heard of a new compact with a full frame 24MP sensor & HD video, that would be awesome!
