Does anyone know if an impreza sti backbox will fit my 2000 forester gls ?

Pretty sure it needs to be from the same shape box I.E. early 4 bolt or later 8 bolt, they changed to 8 bolt here in 1999 so you'll need to check but otherwise yes.

Could 'back box' be the rear diff?

A "back box" is the rear muffler in Australia, for the younger generation.

It may fit with some modification, a competent exhaust should be able to fit it.

Yeah think you call it rear muffler here a 'muff' is something entirely different ha ha thanks for replies I picked up exhaust last night looks like it will bolt straight on! Happy days

Fitted muffler today could only use front two hangers and had to slot holes on flange a little but got it on sounds sweet nice bit of a rumble to it cheers cobbers!

I'm pretty sure an English guy invented them, I saw a docco about them years ago.
