By STi rear muffler do you mean the ~ 2.25" pipe one because I'm after one of those for my RX-T . I want my car to be quiet - not that you have to hide having a turbo in an OE turbo car but it's a daily driver and it's rebuilt EA82 should pump out 160 odd (Hp) I hope .

Hopes you are in Sydney but possibly not , cheers A .

he's in Perth. Goto a performance exhaust shop and ask nicely to look through their bin, probably find a couple there!

As above, try going to or ringing hitech MUFFLERS (don't email, they don't reply...).
They do a ALOT of WRX's and STi's, so more than likely will have some.

Just thought i would ask for your opinion people. I have decided on a xforce cannon 100% bt im trying to justify pricing in my head. For the cannon alone i can get a plain cannon for around $170 or i can get that varex one with the valve to open and close the exhaust for $350ish, thats a big difference, well for me anyway...

Do reckon i would get much hassel as the car stands at the moment, i mean i hardley see any cops as it is, and tbh i would have it on open 99% off the time anyway... Just dont know wether it would be good insurance to have that valve option there...

if you just get a normal cheap one you can always make or buy a little silencer piece to shove up the tip when you want it quieter, they make a huge difference. Basically they just step the tip size down to like 1.5" or thereabouts. Obviously this restricts flow but you get that :P

pretty sure that the electronically controlled silencer is illegal.

i'm not a fan of big tips. when i put an exhaust on my L series it will be 2" with a 2" tip... but hey, its your car, and your taste, you can do whatever you like :)

i have a 2.5" cat back with a straight through oval muffler looks standard but anywhere above 2 1/2k rpm it sounds the business i've had a few people ask if its a turbo just for the sound lol... set me back around $300 and theres no resonator

Wel got a couple of quotes today, well one anyway... Went in and asked for a price on 2.5" inlet with a 4" outlet Xforce cannon, rrp i am told by the WA dealer is $200 and got quoted $250, plus another 150 to install as my exhaust is one complete section, so 400...ouch... The other said doing anything to a turbo with a 2 and a half in system is an absolute waste of time and i should go 3"... Hmmm..

So so far its been a real pain... Gonna try exhaust torque again tomorrow, if its gonna be too hard getting a cannon im gonna go std str8 thru muffler, cant justify too much money...

Okay all fitted and sorted, managed to get a second hand Xforce cannon for 90 bucks on ebay delivered and just got me local exhaust shop to bung it on for 90... Did an okay install although he was a little lazy with the placement....

WOW it is loud, i wasnt expecting it to be this loud... no cruising past the cops in this wagon now, cabin drone is pretty bad, does sound good just volume is waaay too loud.. Anyway of cutting it down a bit, got the note now just wanna lower to volume:)

yeah exactly where i saw it.

i was thinking it might be worth keeping it quieter for a new owner let them decide what to do with it, if you are actually going to sell it.

Yeah it is for sale.. Pity it already has the cannon on it, looks bloody sweet though, just too loud for my liking...
