Anyone fitted another overflow from another car into a Brumby? I've heard of it being done but don't know what to look for to fit.

I have fitted an overflow but not from another car, just put a piece of 50mm pvc pipe with end cup both ends, one seaaled tight the other just pushed over (with a hole drilled in it for the overflow pipe). A couple of brackets down the passengers side of the car radiator support panel.
This has worked for a good couple of years now. Most overflows won't fit without taking out the jack, etc, especially with aircon.

Don't suppose you could stick up a picture or two? Would be much appreciated.

i wen to Coventrys, bought a like $20 'kit' from them and attached it to my rad outlet.

BUT, if you put one on you need to make sure u change your Radcap to one with a seal also at the top, so it can actually suck it back and push it into the overflow bottle instead of leaking it out the top of the rad cap neck.

photo available, but its really nothing special lol

My radiator overflow is the window washer container.

my radiator overflow is the stock l-series unit. Works fine.

I also saw AdamB was using the stock liberty one. A really long unit. Tucked in next to battery. Seemed to work well as well :)

i think the reason of this thread, is that MY's never came out with one from factory whereas L series did :p

I used an overflow bottle from a late model Jap car, made up a bracket, mounts between the charcoal canister and the LH headlight on the inner guard, gives near enough factory look to the uneducated. ;)
New hoses and recovery cap.

Both mine have the standard kit that you get from Supercheap. Its a square bottle with the hose supplied. Both work fine.

So you just go into super cheap and ask for one. I'll have to go down today.

If you dont have AC in an EA powered Brumby a standard early liberty one goes in with minimal fuss and looks factory

does that mean you can't wash your windscreen or do you look through the coolant after giving it a squirt?

I grabbed the radiator part of a VL Commondore bottle (the other half is the washer bottle) It sits neatly up on the RHS back corner flat with hose from rad shop. Good capacity and easy to see and remove for cleaning and refilling. Good thing is it was a freebie !
