I'm puting the weber onto an EA82 that has air con and what looks like the fuel return pipe from the weber hits the air con compressor and does not sit onto the adapter plate. Do you think it will be alrite to put 2 adapter plates as long as there is clearance with the bonnet?

Any help will be great. I'll try and get some pics

You will see that the plug that holds the little filter in the carby is hitting the air con.

Strange problem, the guy I bought the carby off originally was running air con, and so was I - had no problems like that....

Have you transferred the carby off the inlet manifold it came on and onto yours? Mabey there's a difference there somewhere.
I never removed the carby from the manifold - I just transferred the entire manifold onto my motor when I got it.

Also, the guy I bought it off had a touring wagon, so did I.....perhaps there is a slight difference with the air-con compressors between models - yours is a sports wagon I think?

Thats all I can think of at the moment anyways

As for running two spacers . . . as long as you've got under bonnet clearance it will be good. I ran 30mm carby spacers on my old old EA81 (before mankind had heard of 3" lift kits) and it improved the bottom end torque noticably.

I added a second adapter plate and ground a bit off the air con compressor to overcome my first problem. Now the weber is sitting on fine. Just trying to figure out which hoses are needed and which ones to block off.
There is an air pump hose located next to the dizzy it was used on the hitachi carb, can that just be blocked off because i am worried that the pressure might stuff up the air pump. What is the best way to find out which hoses are needed?
