Well it's going, l picked the Brumby up this afternoon after having it wired to the computer and am happy to report it runs. Had to drive it 50 kms to get home and thoroughly enjoyed myself on the way. The new turbo motor is sweet as, mechanically quiet, no odd rattles and heaps of power, nothing like the old ute, this is a totally different car. My old motor wasn't lazy by any standards but this is something else, the burble from the 2 1/2 " exhaust is like sweet music and the new suspension is direct and nothing like it was, it actually handles and yes, discs all round sure do make a difference, the ute won't know what hit it.
So who's a happy boy then, well that would be me, :D , but l can't take all the credit, without the help l received from the guy's on this forum it would still be in the shed so again thanks to all concerned.
Pete.

It's an EA-81T, low mileage import, one of the aircraft guys had it in storage for use in a gyro, but l talked him into selling.
The computer running this is a link, from what l can tell it has 4 wires going to the sngine and that runs so l guess it works.
The fuel system has been boosted by using a surge tank and Bosch 070 pump as well as high pressure filter
The exhaust, what can l say, sweet as, 2 1/2 inch dump/ high flow diesel cat, a 2 1/2" hotdog, (flicked after rego), straght back to a maxi flow 2 1/2" muffler.
The suspension is all nolathane bush, shocks are kyb and standard King springs, to get the most from the new front end l also replaced ball joints and tie rod ends.
Brakes are disc's all round, (thanks Toy RX, skidmarks for everybody!), l had them machined, stripped and rebuilt the calipers and of couse new pads, they work real well with very little travel on the pedal and pull up in a straight line.
Body was completely stripped, including dash, rust completely removed and welded, fishoiled and new dash fitted. 3 undercoats and 3 topcoats, Spartan Acrylic White and a roll bar fitted.

To Do,
l Have a 5 speed RX box, (yes Jaffa, it was yours, got it from Simon, can l talk to you about the CV"s please), to go in.
Intercooler, must get intercooler, must get intercooler.
Cold air intake, will PM you when l figure it out stinky.
Scorpion Rims, yeh they are dear, anybody want to sell some?
and a whole lotta ideas l'll get around to, want to enjoy it the way it now is for a while.

So, there were a hell of alot of other things done, but l don't remember them now, and l know it's not an EJ, but then l'm old, an 81T is plenty fast enough for me...............................for now.

Would love to post photo's, l can email them to anyone that can host them.
Pete.

Im guessing from the description of the brumby, it now lives around the corner from me. A kid flys past my house on gate or fluttering numerous times per day. Guess the speedo never got hooked up correctly ha ha
Also revmax where you anywhere near port on saturday? Seen a red rumby that looked almost as polished as your from the other thread. Very unusual for around these parts.

Stenno, Nah not me but I have noticed some later model Subaru drivers gwaking at MY Brums front end the last couple of days.
Sent some photos to my Mum in Hay NSW now she wants a Brumby. But who can blame her.
Stenno don't let that young bloke wreck that brumby. BUY it from him if you won't I will.

Yeah mate, I remember when I was a noob on here - it was all talk about getting turbos! I SOOO jumped on that band wagon but have since seen the light (read: expense) of other options that were better suited to my needs and situation.

I'd cringe to think what can be found in the archives with my early posts...

Cheers
