Finally got some figures after installing the dual carbs!

-City driving
-No highways
-Mobil 8000 Fuel
-Around 10 degrees advanced timing
-27" Super Trippers
-3.7 Diff
-Certainly not giving the car an easy time!

Just got 460km to the Brumby tank which is around 45L. That makes a figure of 10.2km/L which I think is beyond reasonable! Very happy with the upgrade!

I get 400km's out of my Brumby, with the stock 13's on. Might have to get the weber that's been sitting in the shed on and tuned.

I get about 13L pre 100Km. or 7.6? km pre litre.
This is with 27"ers 2" lift, and driving the GUTS out of it (which it doesn't seem to have much of) Also this is without a charcol filter, I've put on in and I'm redoing the tests.

Remember tho. This engine is a real deul carb setup, not just the manifolds but the heads as well (bigger exhaust and stud spacing, valves swaped around makes it hard to do the valve clearence with a stock manual, and all the EGR stuf :-/)

Dude, this engine is s#^&

actually phizinza, my Gregorys has the valve placement arse about in the diagrams - shows EA81 head with EA82/EA81TC config. Maybe the misprint was just for you !

460 k per 45 litre is much the same as my near 600 for nearly 60 litre '84 Brumby tank with the poor mans dual carb set up on a normal rebuilt cammy EA81 with 14". Economy was not much different between any sort of driving - much the same way now sniffing lpg through the twins

hey jono, I have a gregory's manual too. I wonder if mine is too old, althought it does have a MY and a L series wagons on the front cover. But no where in it did it say anything about what I experianced with the heads. I talked to Steve at rising sun about it had he told me about the deul carb motors. I'm going to ask a few questions about this motor somewhere on this forum. I heard they can do 8k RPM fine... if so, cooooool.
My engine does run a bit rich, there was quite a bit of carbon build up on the heads and pistons. I'm guessing the only way to lean it out is redoing the jets? or maybe a turbo? lol

I am getting an extra 0.5 km per litre just buying my gas from a particular station whereas their sister staions gas gives consistantly 0.5km less per litre 605km for 73 litres !
