my new $80 bash plate :)

heya,

since the ej22 conversion my wagon hasnt had a bash plate, and its been due for one for a while. D3v1l Dave and myself finally got around to making one on the weekend.

Its made of 3mm checkerplate and looks hell sexy

another thing i can polish!

Here's the results, cost me $80 in materials all up. It finishes just before the gearbox cross member. And its sooooo strong

Yer looks great, and looks very strong.... pity the radiator support it's bolted to isn't! I'd still be careful not to hit anything too hard

Looks tough/slick.
A mate did this to his, but his is much smaller and the car is at standard height...
Funny story actually haha, but cutting it short.
He ran the car onto a traffic island, well kinda slid up on the traffic island with his plate. One example of how useful they are... even in town.

yeh thats what i was thinking that the rad support bar isnt that strong. thats why my one sits atop some tophat steel with loads of tek screws

I would of used flat alloy, well actually I just bent the old one to fit, but eh.

Maybe that's an L series thing.. Mine fits fine on the Brumby.

i would. It would be easier to make a whole new bash plate anyway. Stock sump guard would need some serious bending, and you would need to weld sum flat bar to it and extend it.

Nah a couple of washers at the front of the plate and some angle welded on the back does the job for a L.

like i said....no way of making a stock one fit...(should have added before: without adding or welding **** to it..in which case may as well make a whole custom one)

those lights work very very well. Never really hit them offroad before, theyve dug afew holes in some dunes though

(ps. theyre not tiny, they put out more light than my headlights before i got the HID's)

the people who know me, know that i will keep the bash plate very very shiny
