Sorry to anyone who missed out. I would have made the announcement earlier but the remaining 6 kits sold in the last few days.
I won't be making another batch this year, possibly never.
While organising the next lot of kits I was faced with a lack of interest from some of my manufacturers and as a result the price of parts was starting to make the price of the kit uneconomical for the age of the vehicles they are designed for. Regretably I will probably close Crossbred Performance. It's a shame as the kits are a fantastic product. I may change my mind after a break from it and will still look into more efficient/cheaper manufacturing in the meantime. The website www.crossbredperformance.com will be updated in the next few days and probably remain available until the domain runs out (another year).
Feed back from people who bought the kit has been great, and I've enjoyed all the 'subi' conversations and made some great friends and acquaintances (which has been the most rewarding part). Thankyou all.

What a damn shame ....

For all the hundreds ( or thousands) of 5 stud enquiries for Subies, it is a sad day .

Its a pity that it is so expensive to have custom parts machined up , which has probably been the killer for most enquiries.

I sincerely hope that you find a way to keep it going as it was a great idea, a quality kit and a LEGAL way of larger brakes and 5 stud conversion.
Its a pity - that some / most dont care about the legalaties, or that insurance would be void if caught / charges laid if something goes wrong.

Maybe to collect confirmed orders ( with deposits) and after so many that you need for a run , get them made?

That way, if you need a minimum of 10 or 20 to keep it economical, they are all sold before you have to commit to the fabricator.

That's a shame dude... have you thought about contacting some chinese ( or other emerging country ) manufacturers ? Sure you'd need to be more anal on QA when the gear arrives, but could be a lot cheaper?

If it helps for a "one last batch" order I will buy another complete kit right now (and I mean right now).

I've heard nothing but praise for these kits and was looking forward to bolting one on to my L in the next year or two (uni student funding doesn't allow for that atm)... I really hope that there is at least another run of these parts.

As one of the first people to buy one of these kits for my brumby
(kit no CBP0001), i believe it was the best investment for this car.

Gee i will speak to you soon, keen to see how your brumbys coming along, also considering the wide track.

P.s For those who went to last years BBQ mine was the brumby with the
17" WRX wheels.

Yes it truly is a great kit , it allowed some very significant changes to bring the MY/L series cars more in line with the next or early Liberty/Impreza generation cars .

The things that may not seem obvious on the surface were the transfer of park brake from front to rear and the escape from the MY/L type strut/small front balljoint . The Lib/Impreza front upright is a step ahead in that the upright/bearing carrier/caliper carrier bolts to the shock absorber body which makes for very simple removal and some scope for front cambre adjustment . Being able to essentially bolt up a later generation strut/balljoint assembly complete with more modern brakes AND factory 5 stud hubs AND to a compatible CV joint is a HUGE benefit . Also importantly there is a huge range of brake and suspension hardware available for this style of front strut .

The rear end was always going to harder to update because nothing from the factory goes bolt . The not exactly grass seed L RX/XT4 disc brake hub is not able to carry 5 studs so the logical move was to make one from billet steel . Because these are a driven hub and need to fit the existing outer driveshaft joint the bore has to be splined and hobbing these splines is not a cheap exercise . Had the XT6 ones been available new Subaru's economies of manufacturing scale may have made this component cheaper/easier to obtain .
CrossBreds upgraded backing plate and adapter mount is a work of art and I can see that a lot of time went into nutting out how to locate and mount the 4 bolt backing plate to the 3 hole trailing arm . Someone put a fair bit of effort into the milling work on the adapter plates and this doesn't come cheaply . Its all this adaptation that gets you much more effective (and available) rear brakes from the parent factory so all cream .

I'm sure many won't like this but I see the ability to make these early cars stop and corner much better than the std issue car as being far more significant than the ability to fit ricer 20" wheels . Believe it or not large heavy wheels are the last things you want on a lightweight car to make it a rip snorter on road because the unsprung weight becomes almost impossible to control with even good aftermarket springs and dampers . The ride also becomes roller skate like with 35-45 series 205/215 width tyres .

is a pity that you can't keep this going, the kits are fantastic. My little svx brumby thanks you aswell. For the money you wanted the kits were a steal, perhaps a price increase is in order if re-released? I'm glad i got in when i did, made a huge difference on my conversion.
By the way, did you ever do anything about lift kits for l series? "Older" models
are still the order over here. Perhaps time for the store to move west????

Sorry yet another late arrival and if or when would love a kit plus I already have the cash sitting there waiting to go and wouldn't feel comfortable installing my motor without it.

I still recoon that you should take confirmed orders - with a refundable deposit - if there are not enough orders...

Everyone who has a kit, can recommend them - and as Adrian stated - this is not just a 5 stud kit, it is a performance upgrade.

My Vortex, can noow truly be called a sports car, with this mod and the WRX EJ20 Turbo engine / runing gear.

I know hoow much effort it takes to do any project, but having it engineer approved, the quality of the kit and your after sales service was second to none.

I hope people will produce $$ on the table to convince you to keep going...

Yes i only found out bout these brake kits bout 2 months ago of coarse just my luck all gone,if Gee started producing them again i'd have one tomorrow.
The idea of confirmed numbers and deposit up front is a marvellous idea i like it.

considering I have $550 in XT6 hubs under mine this kit is well worth the cost.

brat, what is stopping you from producing these O/S?
