Bugger eh?
Better not go around blasting too many mechanics, i think they'd talk to each other, and your sweet looking L stands out.
Put a post out to see if there's any one in your area you can make friends with and do a true yet still professional backyard job. That'd probabily be the best way to go about it, and it'll save you a few $$.
Also check out the tech manual, that has a lot of invaluabe information in there regarding EJ swaps.
Hope this helps, there is light at the end of the tunnel (it may be far away but you'll get there).
Cheers

just give the rest of the WA boys a holler. I heard they had conversions down to 14 minutes and 27 seconds these days.

Try Sik Em Wrex in Mandurah. I've heard they do EJ conversion to L series and MYs all the time, although I've never needed to deal with them myself.

I thought we already had this discussion on MSN Karen? It's almost common knowledge nowadays that the Precise blokes don't know what they're doing. I don't normally slag off at businesses online unless they're incredibly bad at what they do, Precise Suspensions is one of the two businesses I do not like. The red Brumby I saw that they did a few years back is dodgy, even dangerous.
Tim at Sik Em Wrex is the Gunn. :P

Yeah I know...I sent it when I was very upset this morning....I will prolly remove it after a while....
But at the same time, people need to be warned off people like this who f___ you around and take you for a ride....!
I don't want other people to go through what Ive been through with this mongrel....
You don't go around promising to do a job then pull out at the last second....ya just don't do that to customers....

What was that bloke's name with the white GLF-5? Craig?
That car was done by Tim at Sik Em Wrex, and at around half the price of my conversion (in 2003) he had a better car.
Sik Em Wrex is where I'd take a car to be EJ'd if I didn't know how.
