just installed rear discs on an L series - just wondering if I need to swap the proportioning valve from the donor car aswell??? Not sure if the brakes are working properly - testing them they dont seem to lock up on loose gravel... cant remember if the drums did or not. How can i test the them? I've replaced the pads, had the disks machined and bled them an everything.
Thanks,
timmo

Give subaru a quick call to see if the part numbers are the same between the RX and a normal GL or something.

was driving my L for a few years with the rear discs, with the original wagon proportioning valve. Well the brakes worked heaps better than with the drums - remarkable difference, even more very noticeable if you put on larger tyres.
I think most people don't bother changing that valve, but if you have the RX one there on hand, why not put it in?
