So, I'm at it again
Here's my second EJ conversion first start up in my makeshift testing "facility", pretty much bang on 10 years since doing the one for Ruby Scoo.

Bennie nicely done I have to do this to an EJ18 eventually.

Thanks mate.
My only concern with mounting the starter like that is you expose the flywheel. I can be a little OHS over the top at times but I think it easy to overcome. Plus you’d need to have an eight bolt engine for this to work, or shave the bell housing down to include the lower stud.
