Has anyone put air con in a Brumby??
There's a guy selling a compressor and hoses and stuff from an L series on here, just wondering if it'd work in a Brumby.
The way I see it it'd be fine if the engine's the same and stuff yeah?
Cheers,
Tommo.

Hey Tommo,

I don't think you could fit an L-series air-compressor into a brumby easily. The brumby runs the EA81 engine and the L an EA82. The EA82 air-compressor sits beside the alternator above the water pump. AFAIK the air-compressor on the EA81 bolts off the left hand side of engine (passenger side). Pipes would be different too. Dunno about the heaterbox and airflow setup behind the dash either.

Hope someone else can help you out with the finer details. Best bet would be find one at a wreckers (sneak in some pics of setup etc for reference), that way you also have access to all the dash setup etc...

All that said, anything can be done with some time and effort...

Cheers

short answer:
No

air con systems are designed for the car that were installed into (dunno what the heck they were thinking except for the very late retro fit into the MY).

If you had an EA82 motor you'd use the EA82 compressor, but you still run the rest as MY.

Sorry as I know L series A/C is a lot easier to get hold of. I've got a complete system that I can't seem to give away.
