My fuel tank is closer to 40L... as suggested your L series should atleast have a 60L tank... if not then someone has built some sort of custom smaller tank and u should replace it with a standard one.

Yeah good luck getting your car to look like Lapsed.... took a LOT of time and money to get it how it is.

Best mods.... in order of coolness and the order in which i would do it over a long period... (My opinion only)

14inch Desert Rat Rims
King Springs front and back
Webber Carb (If carb motor)
Replacement bumper bull bar
Lift Kit (3 inch)
27 inch BF Goodrich tyres
KYB suspension
LSD/Welded Diff
EJ Conversion

All up cost (Depending on options chosen for EJ conversion etc) about $6000 - $10,000 not including the car.

Others may disagree but note this is not a debate it's my opinion.

It's actually quite easy to get your car to look like Lapsed.

- 3 or 4" lift kit
- 27" tyres
- Kyb struts
- Kings springs
- Bull bar
- Roof rack

Those are the bolt-ons which give it the looks.

I agree with what the others mentioned - cept I only went a 2" kit and won't be travelling the EJ path. It really depends how much cash you are willing to throw at the old girl.

yeah 2 inch is enough for most. And the EJ is a rather extream mod which is why it is very last on the list.

Money should never come into it if your enjoying you Subaru :D
Just justify money spent with fun had :)

I recommend
1st 14” tyres of any sort to start
2nd bull bar and spotlights
3rd webber or good tune up / full service
4th lift kit 2” + would be antiquate
5th Locker or LSD for snobs
6th EJ if you want

Go 3" front, 2" rear, welded diff, nice aggressive mud tyres. That'd be the first mods I'd do if I was starting from scratch.

why 3in front and 2in rear stinky......doesnt yours sit even..

I found 3" at the front helped with tyre clearance, whereas rear only needed 2".

I've also ran slightly taller rear suspension which gives the rear about an extra inch. Initially the air-shocks, now though I run L series at the rear and they kick it right up ... a little too high at the moment to be honest. Plus you can wind up the torsion bar to make up the difference.

After going for 'massive lift' in the past and pushing it too hard and bending liftblocks etc, I've come to the conclusion that when it comes to body lift, best to go with the mininum you can manage to fit the tyre size you want under it...After all it's not body lift that determines clearance.

I agree with Stinky... im also running a 3 in the front and 2 in the rear... would sit a bit spacko if i had a 3 in the rear too. Also i am running the Holden air shocks in the rear which are great.
