EJ22 conversion finally on the road...still have a few things to fix up but she is drivable.

The chipped valve in the head has been replaced with a $20 one from the wrecker.

Still need to mount computer and put all the fan back under the dash, sump guard to go back on and fuel pump to be mounted properly.

On the fuel pump I have a question…should it just be running continuously? I thought it would kick in and out as required but it just pumps away continuously? Turn the ignition on and it kicks in for a second and stops, start the car and it just keeps pumping…is that correct?

Good work! Another EJ L on the road.

That sounds normal... it starts for a second to prime the lines then it will run continuously while the engine is running.

Hows she drive?

Yeah what u have described for the fuel pump is the way it should be... it's a safety thing.

Ditto on the pump thing. Try and make the mount and flexible as possible to keep the noise of the pump from vibrating though the body

Mine is mounted in place of the EA ecu but I think it could be tidier...

Given time I could make it super tidy in that position no problem at all. Just wondering if theres an even easier way though.

It goes so much better than the webbered EA82, think I am going to be happy for a while longer....then again she needs new shocks all four corners and new set of rubber as only has road tyres at moment.

this is the vehicle a few years back, one photo at Lucky Bay Esperence WA and the other the Yegerup dunes WA

Today at 12.15 I spotted a lifted Outback with nice bullbar, was possibly around a 2001-2003 and was that purple/blue colour. Was near challenge stadium heading to the coast....nice

yep the ea location it is,it's how you go about it.I took the lib ecu apart drilled out the spot welds and removed the mounting plate.tThen i grabbed the ea ecu and pulled off the mounting plate[Good of subaru to mount it with 4 screws and a flat plate].Then i lined up the lib cover and drilled 2 holes to line up with the 2 holes in the L plate at the end where the 2 tabs are,this mimicks the ea ecu where the plugs go only the lib covers a bit shorter,2 big fat riverts hold it in place[it don't contact any thing inside the ecu].Next i drilled another 2 holes down the other end of the lib cover and thru the ea plate,used smaller daimeter riverts here.If you had access to a spot welder it would be a waaay lot quicker.Now it all slips into place like its meant to be there.

Love it!

No more issues with 14 inch wheels effecting takeoff, drives better than the old EA82 with 13 inch rims.

So much quieter...no ticking of lifters or sucking of weber. (both for sale, if not sold by mid Jan they may be free to good home!)

Using as daily driver to the city (was it you I saw on the freeway off ramp to Balcatta one morning?) so far 1200km on the clock and no problems.

Still some things to fix up but all good to drive on road!

In the process of buying a house so time is limited at teh moment, possibly moving end of January before i will get out with you guys.

Had a look under there again yesterday.
I've realised how I can tidy mine up a fair bit. In my haste to get it driving I threaded the harness through the wrong side of the pedals, it's quite a thick harness and kindof gets in the way. When I get time I'll pull it all out the side again and re-run it through
