The next step

Post by ORX-18 » Sat Nov 04, 2006 8:24 am

Hopefully there is some info on the wrx gbox swap. if its at all dooable and cost effective enough it should be a set of 1-3 straight cuts and hard launches for me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wheres the best place to get straight cuts from??? i tried mrt but they are pretty expensive, and practically laughed at me when i asked for them and explained what i was doing.
whats involved with the cv's and obviously tailshaft??
cheers guys.

What are you putting it in and what engine?. If you just want to put it behind an ea82 turbo that is probably why they laughed at you. Dont think you will be needing straight cut gears.

This ea82T makes about 260bhp and 420nm's of torque the last I heard, so if he is doing many launches some straight cut's won't go astray. The previous owner was going through L-series box's like nothing else.

yeah, goes in for a retune and a more efficient turbo soon(ie. garret ball bearing) then hopefully it'll be good for some frightening 1.8 single cam power figures. Also, anybody know of some decent tire manufacturers that make a good race/road 185/50 or 60/65 13's??
cheers guys
