ea82t intercooler mounting

im putting a complete RS turbo water to air cooler on my ea82t..
what is the best way to mount them?

any of you guys got some tips for me?
Do you leaver the turbo heat sheild on>?
pics would be great aswell

l mounted mine by making up 2 strapmounts for the front that screw down to the motor/gearbox, and the rear i have fitted to the spare wheel well.
l have used 25x5mm flat to make these guys and have used rubber mounts on the intercooler to eliminate any vibration.

yeah i was just going to make up some brackets from the gearbox/bellhousing.. not sure where to actully sit the cooler becuase the turbo heatsheild is in the way.. so might have to modify that a little..

do you have any pictures?

I have the heat sheild on and the front of the IC sits on it, then the back is also mounted on the spare wheel plate. I may be able to email you a pic is needed.

I should note that mine is air-air though not water-air.

Sorry it's taken a little long to get back but l'm away on business and can't always get access to a computer but in answer to your question, yes, l do have heaps of pictures, l am writing a how to for the tech manual which will be ready in the next few weeks but will be back in 10 days and can send you pics then but need your home e-mail address, hope this helps.

does anyone know what the standard Liberty RS BOV's are like performace wise? do the job on a intercooled ea82t? standard boost at the moment..
ive got two of the bugga's son i could go nuts and put a y piece in for twice the flow but it probably isnt worth it.....???
any idea's?

is there any certain way the water flows through the rs intercooler radiator and intake?

have just installed pump and was just a thought?

tell us where you are from, possibly a member close to you has an old one- i know i do- in wa.
else get a hold of a small core and get some pipes made up

There are guys there converting from the factory WAIC to front mounts all the time, i bought mine for $150 including pump and pipes
